Recent Park Project Updates

Arlington Parks Planning team has been busy with park improvements, new park developments, trails and more! Here's a look at some of the recent projects including the River Legacy Park Trail Linkage, Deaver Park Improvements, Bowman Branch Linear Park Trail and Harold Patterson Sports Center Phase II Development.

River Legacy Park Trail Linkage Update

RiverLegacyTrail

- Construction began January 2018
- Projected completion is September 2018
- 10' wide, .5 mile concrete trail with (2) pedestrian bridges
- This will extend the far east end of trail in Arlington through River Legacy Park to Highway 360
- The City of Fort Worth Parks will connect to the end of this trail in the near future

Deaver Park Improvements

Deaver Park Improvements

- 2014 Bond Election funding for Deaver Park will include additional concrete trail, playground renovations, replacing the drinking water fountain and a new park monument sign
- A general contractor will begin renovations in July 2018
- Construction time is 150 calendar days, projected completion will be early 2019
- The park will remain open, with various sections closed during construction

Bowman Branch Linear Park Trail

- Consultant design is nearly complete
- Trail is 12' wide concrete, approximately 1.7 miles in length.
- New trail will connect at the west end in Webb Community Park and continue east, going under South Collins Street and connecting to Chambers Creek Lane to the east
- Projected to go out to bid for contractors in July 2018
- If a successful bid is accepted, a projected construction start could begin in September 2018 and complete in Spring 2019

Harold Patterson Sports Center Phase II

HPSC Final Concept

- Consultant began design phase in April 2017
- Phases of completion include data gathering, base mapping, phasing evaluation, existing conditions assessment, cost estimate for current and future phases, topographic survey, final program development and beginning of schematic design
- Phase II development will include the area around the multi-use fields. This will include newly designed ballfield lighting, a new restroom/concession building, new picnic pavilions, expanded parking lot and a new entry monument/feature on Bardin Road
- Final construction documents are scheduled for completion in November 2018
- Proposed construction to be Januray through October 2019
